Nathan Morel is a passionate music educator who uses his background as a classical pianist and Yamaha Music Educator to provide students of all ages with an incredible music education. Nathan began his musical journey studying piano at age 7 by taking private lessons. After years of private lessons he attended Pinellas County Center for the Arts at Gibbs High School, where he discovered his joy for learning, teaching and performing music with others. He learned quintessential music skills and participated in performance ensembles as a pianist and vocalist. At the University of Tampa (UT), Nathan studied Piano Performance with pianist Grigorios Zamparas. Both as a soloist and chamber musician, Nathan focused on using technique and movement to play expressively and efficiently. He received both academic and musical scholarship at UT and was a recipient of the Marvin Hamlisch Piano Award.
After graduating magna cum laude from UT in 2017, Nathan moved to Boston and started working in the non-profit sector. During this time, he focused on developing community through music. He combined West African Djembe rhythms with Judaism's rich singing tradition to create engaging energetic music for Jewish communities. Nathan then moved on to teaching at Yamaha Music School of Boston, becoming certified as a Yamaha Music Education System instructor. After 2 years of teaching at Yamaha, Nathan founded his own music studio Morel Music, in 2021.
Since then, Nathan has continued pursuing ability to better teach. In January 2023, Nathan became Certified Professional Coach (CPC) and a Energy Leadership™ Index Master Practitioner (ELI-MP) from one of the top ICF accredited programs, The Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching.
